Scholarship Objective

• To provide scholarships to deserving students only in the lower income B40 group who have secured a place in a university or vocational college.

Who is eligible to apply?

• Student between age of 17-21 years at the time of application.
• Only Malaysian citizens.
• Family household income should not exceed RM40,000 per annum.
• Applicant must not be holding another scholarship award.

Academic Requirements

• A pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM).
• For studies in Malaysia only.
• For first-diploma or first-degree course only.
• Course must be approved by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

Scholarship Details

• Scholarship amount payable is RM10,000 per annum.
• Duration between 1 year and a maximum of 4 years.
• Scholarship payment is conditional upon proof of fees and previous semester's results.
• Signing of a mandatory Scholarship Agreement.
• Application must only be made online through www.sgitef.com.
• At least two scholarships a year may be awarded.

Scholarship Timeline

• Application opens on 01 August 2025.
• Application closes on 16 August 2025.
• Interviews will be conducted in September or October only for shortlisted candidates.
• Award of scholarship and signing of Scholarship Agreement in October or November.
